Birthday Celebration
We had such a wonderful birthday celebration this weekend and really loved getting to see the family. Madelynn got a fish this weekend from our neighbor and it died within 4 hours :O but we went to petsmart today and replaced the fish with 2 (a dalmation molly fish and a balloon belly molly) which the store person told us were among the hardiest of the fishies and do well generally (Madelynn named them Dori and Molly). Here are a few pictures of the weekend.

Birthday Week chaos

We are having a very fun and busy week. Sunday we had family pictures, Monday we took cupcakes to daycare and celebrated the girls birthdays at school. Ivie turned 1 yesterday and we had a wonderful lunch with Mimi. Today Ivie had her one year appointment with Dr. John and is 21 lbs. and 30 inches long (50% for weight, 75-90% for height) we had our "dress rehearsal" for the preschool christmas musical at church and lets just say that our "performance" would make a wonderful you-tube video. I'll hopefully have a video to share after Friday. We are also getting excited for the birthday party and seeing family and friends on Saturday.

Ivie's First Birthday
Our littlest angel turns one tomorrow morning - What a special evening we had in the hospital last year at this time. This year has flown by. Madelynn and Ivie both had birthday celebrations at school today and Ivie moved to her new "big girl" classroom today. She is growing sooooooo fast. We had family pictures yesterday and I hope to have those posted soon! We have a busy day planned tomorrow complete with a visit from Mimi, baking cookies for church, flu shots and gymnastics for Madelynn. Looking forward to having a special day tomorrow with my girls and celebrating with Ivie!

fall 2011
So I am starting a new resolution to update the blog atleast one time per month as I am a bit behind. The heits family has had a very busy summer and fall. We had a wonderful family vacation in Colorado, spent several days at the pool in our neighborhood, and have been watching our little girl hitting some great milestones (crawling, getting teeth and her latest-walking) I can't believe she is growing so fast. Madelynn will be 3 in December and has enjoyed her gymnastics classes and all of the fun trips to the zoo this year! We have also enjoyed several fall outings (the pumpkin patch and fall festival at daycare as well as trunk or treat at the church) She has also been super excited about singing in the Christmas program at church this year (practices start tomorrow)!

I know that I open every blog by saying that I am going to do a better job of blogging and updating everyone with pictures. I failed again! Ivie is 9 months old now and all over the place. She is walking behind objects/cruising and is an eater. Madelynn is definitely a free spirit but is so sweet and is really growing up before our eyes. We've had some great times in the past several weeks including the zoo, the circus and enjoying the outdoors!

Happy Easter
We have had a wonderful Saturday. We spent the day relaxing at home for the most part. Madelynn colored easter eggs and also colored an easter egg coloring page. Ivie lounged and watched her big sissy and we made, cookies for decorating and also resurrection cookies which are currently locked in the oven (Tomb). Not sure that Madelynn really grasped the concept but I read her the story that went along with the cookies anyway and I think we will do it each year as a reminder of what Jesus went through to save us!. Here are a few pictures from our day!

Ivie's 4 month check up
We have continued to stay busy. A few weeks ago all the girls went to the imagination movers concert (sans Ivie). Last weekend we were able to cheer on Danni and Jessi in the half marathon and Brian and I ran a 5K in STL. We have also continued to watch in amazement as the girls grow and become more interactive everyday. Ivie had her 4 month check up and is doing wonderfully. she is over 13 lbs and 25 1/2 inches long. 50% for weight, 75% for height. She also took her first bites of rice this week! Madelynn has now gone 3 straight days without an accident and is doing really well. She has even managed to stay dry the last 2 nights. She has been enjoying the beautiful weather this past week as well! Brian is going to the black and gold game tomorrow and we are also hosting a supper club which should be fun! We're also looking forward to Holy week services this week at church (I'm singing in the church band) and also gearing up for Easter!
Love you all

Blessings!
What a wonderful day for the Heits family. Ivie was baptized today and they also did a remembrance of Madelynn's baptism. Ivie did so well and I love the words in the baptism ceremony. There is something to be said about the message that we are all one family in Christ. It makes me feel like Brian and I are not parenting alone. We have an entire congregation and family that supports our daughters and will be watching and supporting as they grow in their faith and learn what it is to be a christian. Madelynn also stood in front of the congregation proudly and answered quietly to Dave our preacher and picked a remembrance stone out of the bowl. Here are some pictures I also attached a flip of Madelynn working out with Mommy (Too funny)!

sleeping babies
Well I just read Jessi's latest blog for the second time and got inspired to write my own short blog. We are enjoying our evening at Mimi and Papas and are excited about Ivie's baptism this weekend. Madelynn is as curious as ever and potty training is really not happening. She goes on the potty only when she wants. I watched the Talk the other day and Dr. Phil has a method for Potty Training in 1 day - I'm interested just to see how that would work. I'll keep you informed. Miss Ivie is doing wonderfully and is (knock on wood) sleeping through the night. I've been enjoying seeing children in the school district 1x/week in Hamilton and will be starting PRN back at NKCH on March 1st. That is all from us now. Will update pictures soon.

....
I have realized in watching the news the past week that I do not tell the people closest to me often enough how I feel. Watching the stories of faith, love, hope that have come out of the Arizona shooting (though sad that it took something like that to open my eyes)has made me wonder if my family/friends would really know how I felt/who I was if something were to happen tomorrow. You begin to ask yourself - Do you love enough, laugh enough, share enough.....Please know that I feel very blessed to have family and friends who care and I feel very loved and hope that I have shown you this love as well.
We had a wonderful Christmas and were very spoiled with great family, food and presents under our tree. Thank you and sorry to all of you who have not received thank you cards yet :( I need to be better about that! Brian and I are excited to start this next year. I am finally going to go to a musicians workshop at church and am excited because I miss singing! I love it and my shower doesn't appreciate it so it is time to share my voice in church where I can maybe be heard. Our church is also offering Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. I hope we can really gain some great knowledge/power from this as we are both tired of having "more month at the end of the paycheck" as Dave would say. Madelynn and Ivie went to the doctor late last week and of course Madelynn would not get on the scale but is doing just fine (other than an URI/runny nose). Ivie is 75th-90th in height and head circumfrence but 25th or less in weight at only 8lbs so our physician is having me supplement with formula. Other than that it has been pretty low key in the heits household. It has been sooooo cold but Madelynn did play outside for a short time in the snow. Here are our latest photos!
